West Michigan Regional Airport’s runway is state of the art with 6,002 feet of take off space, a designated taxi lane, and an Integrated Landing System. Whether it is cold and snowy or calm and sunny, West Michigan Regional Airport has the capabilities to land almost any plane you need.
Instrument Landing System
The Instrument Landing System (ILS) is a critical navigation aid for pilots landing at WMRA and is extremely important to this area from an economic development standpoint to enable business jet aircraft to continue to conduct business and stay competitive in today’s global economy.
Aircraft Storage / Hangaring
Whether you have a Gulfstream or a Cessna, we can meet your aircraft storage needs. T-hangars include bi-fold electric doors and concrete floors. Large hangars are heated, include fire protection and security and provide towing in and out of storage.
Airport Business Center
Fiscal years 2014 and 2015 are planned for projects relating to the new airport business center. Preliminary work will continue throughout the year with construction planned for 2015. Currently underway are the environmental assessment and property acquisition for the building, infrastructure, and apron area. The larger part of funding will be provided by federal and state grants.
Two viewing areas, one located along Lincoln Avenue and the other along 64th Street are equipped with picnic tables and educational signage. The viewing areas offer convenient and safe places to stop by, enjoy a snack and watch aircraft activity at West Michigan Regional Airport.
EV Charging Station
The EV charging station, next to the Tulip City Air Service hangar, provides more options for airport users while supporting the Advanced Energy Storage goals of the community.
