The fourth annual Wings of Mercy CareAffaire held at West Michigan Regional Airport on Saturday, August 23, 2014, was a great success. Over 100 runners started out on the taxiway for the first annual Runway 5K.
The local Lions Club served 500+ visitors at the benefit pancake breakfast and a wide variety of aircraft was on display.
100 kids, ages 8-17, received free plane rides through the Young Eagles Program and enjoyed free activities including Make N Take planes. Adults with designated donations received rides on Metal Flow’s jet and helicopter rides.
Founded by Peter VandenBosh, Wings of Mercy is a faith based non-profit organization who provides free flights to distant medical facilities to patients in need. Wings of Mercy has flown over 850 flights from West Michigan Regional Airport.
