A WET & WILD RUNWAY 5K

Ludema familyA little rain didn’t stop over 100 runners that showed up at West Michigan Regional Airport this past Saturday morning on August 24. Starting on the runway, they were here to run the Wings of Mercy Runway 5K held in conjunction with the Wings of Mercy CareAffaire. Pushing a stroller with twin boys, Jason Jaloszynski won the race! Along with other winners, the Ludema family each won an award! A delicious pancake breakfast cooked by our local Lions Club awaited the runners.

The CareAffaire fundraiser was a mix of food, fun and festivities. There were airplane displays, helicopters, and an antique car show. Golf cart rides showed off the new Airport Business Center

The event provides a unique opportunity for local citizens to come out to the airport to support Wings of Mercy and to learn more about how their airport is a valuable community asset.
