We are excited to welcome two local high school students, Drew Rothstein and Nile Leonard, as volunteer West Michigan Regional Airport Authority (WMRAA) board members. Drew and Nile are members of the Holland Youth Advisory Council (HYAC), a group of aspiring local student leaders who serve on city boards or subcommittees and report on the activities of those boards.
The WMRAA board governs policy, budget and strategic planning for the airport to align with the best interests of taxpayers. As a community-owned resource, we value insights from future professionals. We look forward to working with Drew and Nile this year and providing them with relevant experience as they develop their professional skills.
Meet Drew Rothstein
Drew joins us as a Junior from West Ottawa High. In addition to his involvement at HYAC, he gives back to the community through volunteering at Premier’s Wheelchair/Parastanding Tennis program and Kids Food Basket. Drew is eager to learn the ins and outs of airport strategic planning, meet community leaders and gain relevant leadership experience for college and his career. In his free time, Drew enjoys playing tennis, golf and spending time with his friends.
Meet Nile Leonard
Nile is currently a Sophomore at West Ottawa High. In middle school, Nile attended Flight Night with Flight Path at WMRA and decided he wanted a career in aviation. As an aspiring pilot, Nile is passionate about the airport and learning skills that will help him in his field. He can’t wait to learn more about aviation from a management perspective and develop his leadership and public speaking skills. In his free time, Nile is involved in soccer and track. In the offseason, you’ll catch him snowboarding.
