Outgoing Board Members

West Michigan Regional Airport is a community-owned resource, supported through operations revenue, government funding and local taxpayers. e West Michigan Airport Authority (WMAA) governs policy, budget and strategic planning for the airport to align with the best interests of taxpayers.


Formed in 2008, the WMAA board consists of nine representatives from the three regional municipalities where voters have approved our operations millage. These include the City of Holland, Park Township and the City of Zeeland. e board also retains ex-officio members who represent the Ottawa and Allegan communities and provide financial expertise. In 2024, two board members will reach term limits. e West Michigan Regional Airport staff and board want to extend our deepest thanks to both Kevin Klynstra and Dave Hoekstra for their committed service to the airport and the West Michigan business community

Kevin Klynstra

Kevin Klynstra, Mayor of the City of Zeeland, has served as a board member for eight years and as the chairman for one year.. Klynstra prioritized the economic stability of the airport during his service, and was a great asset during times of instability and change.

“I have had the privilege of serving alongside Kevin for several years on the West Michigan Airport Authority, and his commitment to ensuring the financial stability of airport operations has been unwavering,” said fellow board member, Scott Corbin. “Kevin consistently provides strong leadership, particularly during pivotal moments of transformative change in airport management and operations. His strategic vision and steadfast dedication contribute significantly to the success and resilience of our aviation community.

Dave Hoekstra

Dave Hoekstra has served as a WMRA board member for eight years and prioritized youth education, aviation career opportunities and business development in the West Michigan area throughout his service.

“Dave’s dedication to promoting the West Michigan Regional Airport as a community asset has been truly instrumental in our growth,” said board member Scott Corbin. “His tireless advocacy for youth programs and emphasizing careers in air travel for Ottawa and Allegan counties showcases his commitment to the community’s future. Moreover, through his role at the airport, Dave has effectively championed economic development by enhancing the airport’s appeal to the business community.”
