This year, we had the privilege to welcome Hamilton Community School’s 6th graders to the airport for a behind-the-scenes look at operations. During their visit, students got to experience how West Michigan Regional Airport serves the local community. They learned about day to day operations, emergency medical services, corporate aviation and the airport’s role in supporting West Michigan’s economy.
A few months later, we joined the students at school as they presented their ideas for how the airport can further connect with the community. The winning proposal suggested hosting a car show at the airport!
We’re impressed by the creativity and thoughtfulness these students brought to the project. WMRA is proud to connect with the next generation as they learn about economic development and how airports like ours serve their communities.
Thank you to Hamilton Community Schools for this great partnership!
