West Michigan Regional Airport Authority Announces Jim Storey as Interim Manager

Storey will serve as the West Michigan Regional Airport’s manager until the Airport Authority selects a permanent manager.

Holland, MI — West Michigan Regional Airport hired Jim Storey as the interim manager of the West Michigan Regional Airport as of October 28, 2024. Storey will fill the manager position while the Airport Authority screens candidates to fill the permanent airport manager position.

“The airport is an integral part of West Michigan’s business community, supporting thousands of local jobs and making our home an even more appealing place to do business,” said Chuck Murray, authority board chair. “We’re eager for Jim to step into the role as the airport’s interim manager, and we’re confident that he will provide the airport with the necessary support as we continue the search for a permanent manager.”

Storey brings with him decades of experience in government and government-adjacent roles. He served as a board member of the Holland Board of Public works for 10 years and brings a dozen years of experience as a county commissioner in a district that includes the airport. Storey’s association with the airport started in 1996 when he was appointed to the Tulip City Airport Advisory Board, the governing body that preceded the creation of the WMAA. He led the campaign that created the regional body in 2008 and was its first chair.

“I’m incredibly grateful and excited for the opportunity to serve the West Michigan Regional Airport as its interim manager,” Storey said. “I am eager to advance the airport’s mission while the Authority Board searches for a permanent manager.”

Storey will assist the Authority Board as it continues serving airport tenants, the fixed-base operator, other airport employees and the West Michigan community.
