Fiscal years 2014 and 2015 are planned for projects relating to the new Airport Business Center. A variety of steps are being taken to construct the new Airport Business Center and apron area. The State of Michigan has allocated funds for property acquisition, design work, infrastructure construction, a new apron and for a portion of the building. Property acquisition is underway and the necessary Environmental Assessment is complete.
A fundraising effort is underway to raise the local funds to support the state and federal funds. It is hoped that the final designs will be prepared by the end of 2014 and the project will be bid over the 2014-15 winter for a spring 2015 construction
