EAST TAXIWAY CONNECTOR PROJECT

Construction is now underway and should take approximately two weeks to complete. The benefits the East Taxiway Connector project brings is to provide direct access from the Taxiway to the new Apron and is designed to improve overall traffic flow to the Airport Business Center.

Funding for the project is split between the FAA (90%) and MDOT Aeronautics (5%). The state provided preliminary approval of the East Taxiway Connector with the original new Business Center project. Because of inadequate funding at that time the project was put on hold. Appropriate funding for the East Taxiway Connector project is now secured.

The Airport Authority has contracted with Mead & Hunt to serve as design consultant for the East Taxiway Connector project. Final construction is intended to be complete by the end of the 2017 construction season. The estimated cost of the project is $398,573.00.
